THE NEW NEGRO: The Gay Forefathers of Black Culture
A Harlem Renaissance Centennial Performance
NOTE: THE NEW LOCATION BELOW!
This is a performance-driven salon in the original tradition—where ideas were spoken aloud, culture was shaped in real time, and community was built face to face.
Through live narration and dramatic readings by DC artists, the Harlem Renaissance comes alive—not as nostalgia, but as lineage. This evening honors the Black gay men who seeded Black culture and invites today’s Black gay men to see themselves clearly within that legacy.
Join us for an experience meant to be felt, not explained.
