About the Role
What it is
This role creates and animates social life beyond the monthly Salon. Working in collaboration with the Facilitator and Business Team, the Scene Maker designs casual, engaging experiences that bring people together, spark connection, and strengthen community.
What you’ll do
Event ideas & planning
Dream up social experiences people are genuinely excited to attend
Plan and host activities such as dinners, cocktail hours, concerts, game nights, and adventure outings
Design experiences that feel relevant, social, and age-appropriate without siloing the community
Coordinate basic logistics (location, timing, headcount) in collaboration with the Facilitator and Business Team
Outreach & participation
Personally invite people and encourage “bring a friend” participation
Build energy and momentum around each gathering
Help guests feel comfortable showing up, even if they don’t know many people yet
Coordinate with Promotions and Welcome teams to spread the word
During events
Act as host and social catalyst
Introduce people and help conversations get started
Keep the vibe warm, relaxed, and inclusive
Make sure no one feels left out or stuck on the margins
Salon social engagement
Foster social engagement during Salon gatherings through light icebreakers and social prompts
After events
Gather informal feedback
Share what worked and what didn’t
Suggest ideas for future social activities
Tools you’ll use
Messaging apps (e.g., WhatsApp, text, email)
Social media sharing (Instagram, Facebook)
Simple planning tools (shared docs, sign-up lists)
Messaging collaboratively provided by the team
Time ask
Weekly: 4-5 hours for planning and outreach
Additional time during hosted events
Events may be monthly or occasional, depending on interest and capacity
